I only see the list of members in a grid and I can hit an envelope button to PM them. I see no other real info about PMing. I think it should be known to us if an Admin has access to our PMs between ourselves and another user.

There is only one site admin as far as I know and that is Jen. If you look on the home page the first tab is the Welcome thread, under that it says "Moderator: Jen" if you click on her name it'll take you to her profile and you can send her a message and ask her your question directly. She seems to be a very hands-off admin so even if she does have the capability to read pm's (which I'm not sure if she has that ability or not) I doubt she would do that. Unless you specifically requested her to review a PM because you were being harassed or something to that effect. And maybe the only way she'd be able to see it is if you copied and pasted it into a pm to her. I don't know how that works, but you should ask her. She is very helpful and nice. Hope that helps. |

Just out of curiosity, what kind of information are you thinking you'll be sending or receiving in PMs that has to be kept so private not even the site admin can see it?

Site Admins cannot read PMs on this type of board. It's a PITA to wade through the help forums but they talk about it in there ad naseum. So I'll spare you the wading time and tell you that they cannot read them nor can they tell if you have them. I've been a site Admin on a board similar to this and from that one I can tell you that there was no way to read the PMs. Also, the board server itself, for lack of a better term, cannot read the PMs.

I see this topic has been read 57 times. Anyone else have any input? I wouldn't be too concerned about the number of times a thread is read and not responded too. Most likely, people reading saw the title and didn't know what it was going to be about so they clicked it then they didn't have a response. I've never been a fan of having the ability to see how many times a post/thread has been viewed. Oftentimes it simply sets someone up for disappointment ('Why did my post get 17 views but only one response!? nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'll go eat some bugs!") Also, welcome to the board (though I see you joined almost two months ago, so thanks for coming out of lurkdom). |

I was considering PMing someone to share my personal contact information (name, phone), but, since I learned IMLM CAN access your PMs and it isn't necessarily private, I was hesitating. Yes, I am a "lurker", b/c I have had very little free time lately due to kids home in the summer. |

I just wanted to say I have looked several times, I couldn't reply because I didn't know the answer but I did come back to see if some one else knew. I suspect that some of the "lookers" had the same issue.
