Okay, we're just starting here with a basic framework. This site is for US, and WE can make it what we want it to be. So any and all suggestions welcome! Rules, categories, whatever. What do YOU want out of this site?
But one thing is for certain. This is going to stay LOCAL. No corporate nonsense getting in the way!

Absolute desire to stay local. And -- stay sane. I don't want to be afraid to dive into any meaty topics, either.

Easy to read, easy to follow the flow of conversations (good quoting or replying feature), no signature lines (or only very short ones)

I don't see a like button, but there's a Karma score with links to "exalt" or "smite.". Hmmmmm . . . don't know what that's all about, but it might be interesting. I've always wanted to smite someone!

I just gave you an exalt Jen, so now you have a Karma point! Ooh, that is a devious little feature! Now you will have to tell us if you are able to see who gave you the Karma points.

Done! It doesn't look like you can see who exalted you. Also, one thing I discovered is that you get ONE exalt or smite per day. After you use it, then the option disappears until the next day. So use them wisely, my friends!

I found out I can post from my HTC incredible without having to go through all the trouble of going to Opera Mini (which I don't really like anyway).
Thanks, Jen, for using your "exalt" on me.

Now, this is interesting . . . I still seem to have my exalt and smite links. Wonder if your karma score affects how much smiting or exalting you can do in a day?

Ooh, love the exalt or smite! It would cause drama a certain other place, but I can see where it could be really handy. Like you know those people who post all their drama, and think everyone "supports" them and loves them? You know the type. I might use smites as a way to just send a message, without having to say it on a thread, that they are batshit crazy.

Pitbull, you just threatened smiting on that "board that shall not be named". You never know who that will attract! There should be a police show about serial smiters.

Now exactly how does this "smiting" stuff work? Will a certain number of smites result in any kind of punitive action?
