What would you ladies think about the idea of Hoosier Mamas gear, like t-shirts, keychains, mugs, and such? One way we could get the word out and also recognize each other out in public!
We're too small a group for me to justify buying a bunch of inventory in one shot, but we're large enough that trying to coordinate an order with everyone's different sizes and collecting money would probably be WAY too complicated. However, I know of at least one site where I could set up the designs and products, you'd go there to order, and they just produce them on demand in the size/s you want. The one I just happened across is Zazzle - don't know anything about them, but on first glance it looks like it might be a good solution, and the prices and selection are pretty good.
So . . . I thought I'd find out what the level of interest might be in something like that. Would you buy gear if it were available, especially if we could keep the prices reasonable? Any suggestions or ideas would also be welcome!

If the prices were reasonable I would!

Yep, I'd be interested... Does Hoosier Mamas have an "official" color?

Make sure you check with artzyval to get permission to use the logo. I love that logo. I might even buy a hm shopping bag or something.

I probably wouldn't buy it or wear it or anything but it's more a monetary thing than anything. Plus, I think that a board doesn't need big honking banners over the highway to say how good it is.

nothing personal or against the board but I often steer clear of logos. I have a couple of cheap tshirts that say old navy (which I would have gone for plain but I'm a sucker for cheap shirts to wear and get dirty in) but otherwise I avoid visible logos like the plague

I may not get a T-shirt, but I'd probably buy SOMETHING.

Where would the money from the items go? That's another issue with merchandise. The only thing I can think of to put money toward is keeping the board ad-free but that's not a lot and a few purchases would cover it, depending on prices, so then what?

I'm not a big logo person either. So I don't know that I would buy something unless it was super duper cool or something I have MLM stuff too, and have never done anything with it. Now...if you have a way to get their chapstick--that'd be a different story!!

Maybe. I have a bag from the other place that I love, it's my library bag. For some time now I have been wishing it didn't have their info on it. I might buy something, it just depends.

I'd do shopping bags. As for my "other" bags, I turn them inside out...

Tastes like Skittles . . . mmmm . . .

Where would the money from the items go? That's another issue with merchandise. The only thing I can think of to put money toward is keeping the board ad-free but that's not a lot and a few purchases would cover it, depending on prices, so then what? It goes to the manufacturer of the merchandise. Looks like most of these places have the option to add royalties to go to whomever set up the shop, but I'd set that as low as possible (zero if that's an option) to keep the price at the minimum. Now, even with free boards, there's still a fee for the domain name on this site, and if I ever want to get better discussion board software and host it independently (lots more freedom there and we could have our private sex chat board back!), there would be costs associated with that. So if a minimum royalty were required, I'd just apply it towards that. Any extra amounts . . . I'm thinking contests with prizes, maybe. That would be fun! But either way, I don't want to make any money off it; I'd be happy just covering any expenses and being able to improve the site.
