Why do you say you learn everything the hard way?

I'm trying to learn all those things our great-grandmothers did....like bake breads and make cheese and stuff like that and I thought that was an easy way to word all of that without over doing it. NTM...I do tend to make a lot of mistakes so a lot of times I really do learn things the hard way :/
I hope that explains it

Yes, yes, it does. I just found it intriguing. My Mom does all the above. I should really learn something from her.

I'll be doing classes starting this spring if you think you'd want to pick something up. I still haven't decided what if anything to charge but in my head I'm thinking $5/person just to offset my costs to do them. I'll post something official looking eventually

Maybe I will. I can not promise, since at my Mom's I have everything available:animals, fruits and veggies. She gave up the city life few years ago, and moved to the small town close to the city where she raises her own animals, and has her own garden. It helped her health tremendously! Will you do classes for adults only?

not sure yet on the adults only, I'm leaning toward not because kids would probably really like some of them. But our goals are a lot like your moms. We hope to be about 70-80% food self sufficient in a couple years. Not really expecting perfection but I figure we'll find out what the right mix for us is. No need to promise anything though, I'm doing these mostly because a self sufficiency group I belong to has asked as well as a few friends and acquaintances. I'm just hoping it will be fun and not a big hassle

Pitbull, she is 30 minutes away from Belgrade, but I visit Belgrade almost every summer. I spend some of the time there with my Mom. I could spend the whole time there, but I like to stay in the city. Sometimes, we just send the kids there Eclipchic, if you have classes for adults and kids, I am 100% in. DD loves loves farming and gardens, and everything that has to do with it. She even milked the goat already!
