I am an extremely introverted person. I always have been. I feel like I know a lot more about everyone else than they do about me. So, I am putting myself out here... ask if you want to know. Kind of GTKY..was always too shy to join in.
I will tell you some basic things to start with. I am married, it will be 10 years this year. We have 2 boys, 8 and 6. I grew up in Brown County and still have some family there. I live SE of Indy in a pretty small town. I don't mind the small town but sometimes feel suffocated by it. I love young children, have been an early childhood educator for 13 years and am currently finishing my interning for dental assisting and starting to put resumes out and I am excited and nervous. My children have been in public school, home school and Montessori, which we are sticking with for now.

Hi!  I love Brown County, and grew up in small town myself before landing in Fishers. A one gas station, one stop sign sort of place. Why don't you tell us some of your favorite things? Dessert? Drink? Color? Flower? Scent?Hobby? Sport? etc etc. I love knowing random things about people. Are you tall or short? What stands out about you? |

Hi! I always enjoyed the GTKY threads. DH and I haven't been married for 10 years, but we will have been together 10 years next spring. What made you decide to change your career from education to dental assisting? I'm curious because I am finishing up my degree in elem. ed.

Welcome to Hoosier Mamas, kbean! I'm glad you're here. I agree with some of the PP's that the GTKY (Getting To Know You) threads are a fun and easy way to share info about yourself. One of my favorite party games is 2 lies and a truth (or 2 truths and a lie). Do you want go guess which one of mine is the lie?
1. I studied abroad at Oxford while in college.
2. I am almost 6 feet tall.
3. I am left handed.

so nice to meet all of you! I will try to answer all of your questions first.
favorite things:
drink: diet dr. pepper/ sweet tea
dessert: COOKIES! any kind, favorites are oatmeal raisin and of course the snickerdoodle
color: red and pink
flower: carnation
scent: clean linen
hobby: bike riding (schwinn) and rollerblading
sport: soft ball
I am pretty short, 5ft 4", my husband is 6ft 5". I am a fairly laid back, quiet person.

pinkmommy86, mostly just because I had the opportunity. It has always been on my "bucket list" if you will to try something new. Dental assisting was always my next choice. Both of my boys will be full time in school this year and it just seemed like a good time to give it a try. So far, I like it. I am hoping to get on a a pediatric dentist because I like the little ones

My *plan* is once all my kids are in school (maybe even graduated high school-I will only be in my 40s if we don't have any more ) I would like to go back to school for nursing. I would love to be an OB nurse. But for now, teaching seems like the perfect career for me...it will allow me to work, but still be home with the kids. |

Another member of the 10 year club! I'm also a dental assistant. I've been one for 18 years now and I've been at my current job for 14.
I have one daughter who will be in first grade.

Hi, I also work with preschoolers. I teach music (mommy-and-me, preschool and kindergarten). My son is in a co-op preschool and DD is in a hybrid homeschool/charter school. I'm way up in Fishers.
