We got a new pet a few weeks ago. The girls got a guinea pig that they named Carmel. It eats, poops, and makes weird noises.

Our dogs are Epi and Glory.
Epi's registered name is Fairoaks Total Diversion. Total Diversion, from my job. When hospitals are not accepting any ambulance patients, they tell the crews they are on total diversion. Epi is what most medical people call epinephrine for short.
Glory's registered name is Fairoaks Star Spangled Banner. No particular reason we came up with that one. Since our flag is also called "Old Glory", that is where Glory came from.
Our cats are Kitten and Maddie. Colt named Kitten, and Maddie is my old cat from before DH and I got together. No particular stories behind either one of their names.

Lexus is our female pitbull. She's slightly (ok, a lot) overweight so she looks like a sausage with stick legs. She's the best with the kiddos...
She already had a name when we got her from my ex-SIL who used to name her dogs after cars...or guns, lol

DH and I, when we were engaged, had a long conversation while at my sister's graduation. We talked about names (since the announcer was reading the names of every. single. graduate). We didn't come up with any names for our theoretical, future children, but did agree upon a nice dog name. When we got a dog together, the only requirement was that she would fit our previously-agreed-upon name .

We have a Germain Short-haired Pointer named Roxy, short for Roxanne. Dh has had her 12 years and I believe his daughter named her. When my dh and his ex got divorced, she was going to send her to the pound and there was no way dh would let that happen. She is the sweetest dog every and rarely moves from my feet.
My past pet have typically been named after literary characters or famous artistic people. I've had Juliet, Wolf (short for Wolfgang, after Mozart), Robin Hood, Ariel (from Midsummer's Night Dream, not after the Mermaid), Hamlet, Galahad, Lancelot and Shakespeare. Dh liked to name his dogs after mass murders like Jack the Ripper. Yeah, ok, whatever. lol We did have a pug for awhile named Peyton after Peyton Manning. We almost named him Kid Rock.

We have added a snake to our house - My son had a snake for 2 years - Sarah - well really Gon Sarah. he thought he was naming it after the lead singer of ACDC Bon Scott but was a little off - but it was good becasue Sarah was a girl. Anyway Sarah dies in February & Ry was so upset. In May when we moved his big brother to his house J gave Ry his snake Bobbie Jo - the snake started as Bob but again it was a girl so Bobbie Jo. J got Bobbie when he returned from Iraq and she is 3 years old.
